Alcohol Rub receives TGA Approval in Australia

Alcohol Rub receives TGA Approval in Australia: Media Release

The Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) is aware of the introduction of an  alcohol rub for use as a surgical hand wash/rub into the Australian market through recent TGA approval. The ACORN Board have been in contact with the company who currently market this product and are in the process of reviewing the literature and evidence in regards to the rubs recommended use.

As with all our evidence based ACORN Standards the Committee will thoroughly research all documentation pertaining to the introduction of a alcohol hand scrub/rub prior to recommending any changes to practice within the relevant standards.

ACORN will ensure that its members are made aware of any changes to practice if our Standard will change due to the outcome of our evidence review.
