Accreditation of Program


Australian College of Operating Room Nurses

The Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) believes that there is a need for all personnel working in or visiting the perioperative environment to acquire specialist knowledge and skills. This knowledge is necessary to ensure that all risks are managed, thus contributing to best patient outcomes. Organisations involved in conducting ongoing educational programs for perioperative personnel are therefore invited to apply to ACORN for accreditation of their program. 

By accrediting an educational program, ACORN provides formal recognition of the quality of the program, demonstrating that the requirements developed by the College have been met. To ensure that all information required by the ACORN Board is provided, applications for accreditation should be submitted using the ACORN submission template.
