Ms Kerle undertook her nursing training at Auburn hospital and then moved on to Westmead were she gained her interest in operating room nursing. Ms Kerle then completed her Midwifery qualification at Blacktown hospital. In 1986 Ms Kerle commenced at Gosford Operating Rooms where she was later appointed to CNS Orthopaedics Urology and ENT. She completed her Operating Room qualification during this time through Royal Newcastle hospital.
Ms Kerle was successful in gaining the position of CNE Operating Rooms Gosford and commenced training new staff and Beginning Practitioners. Ms Kerle became actively involved in developing competencies for perioperative nurses and the development of Perioperative Post graduate programs for Central Coast Health.
In 1997 Ms Kerle gained her Bachelor of Nursing at University of New England and then in 1999 her Masters in Health Management. Ms Kerle currently holds the Nurse Manager Operating Rooms position at Gosford. She has been involved in the NSW OTA for the past 4 years as the Honorary Secretary. During her term as NSW representative Ms Kerle has represented on the following committees, • Standards • Conference • Australian Standards committee for Waste management and the handling of sharps • Australian Standards committee for prosthesis
Ms Kerle is actively involved in many committees at a state level in relation to information technology and has been involved in the revision of many policies and documents such as the Management of accountable items, Equip standards and various medical training programs.
This term Ms Kerle is the ACORN Director NSW and Honorary Secretary ACORN and Chair of the Conference Committee |
