IATSIC/AAST Session September 2009- ABSTRACT DEADLINE DATE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 15.
On Tuesday, September 8 during the 43rd World Congress of Surgery of ISS/SIC there will be a sponsored IATSIC/AAST session with six quality papers.   The abstract process for this session is now open through January 15th (The deadline date has been extended one month).   Please click here to submit an abstract in the field of trauma, burn and emergency general surgery. 

AAST Health Policy Scholarship
For the second year in a row AAST is partnering with the American College of Surgeons to offer a scholarship to participate in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University June 14-19, 2009.  This deadline for the scholarship is February 2, 2009.  To find out more, please click here.   

NEW SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED:  AAST/CIMIT Scholarship - Scholarship Applications Due June 1, 2009
The AAST/Center for Integration of Medicine & Innovative Technology (CIMIT) scholarship provides funding for innovative research in trauma and critical care, engaging new technologies.  The use or -preferably- development of new technology is essential.  The creation and evaluation of a new and innovative device or technological method will be given priority.  To download an application, please click here or go to the Scholarship section of the AAST website. 

AAST Approves Another Site as an Acute Care Surgery Fellowship Training Site
The Acute Care Surgery Committee and the AAST Board of Managers  has approved The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as an Acute Care Surgery Fellowship training site in September.  Three sites have been approved to date:  University of Nevada School of Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine (Denver Health Medical Center) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as Acute Care Surgery Fellowship Training Sites.
