Paediatrics in Anaesthesia and Recovery - 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
ACORN has received an enquiry for which we are seeking assistance from the wider perioperative community.
ACORN competencies are very generalised and not specific to paeds. My hospital is a small rural hospital, doing general, ortho, gynae, urology, ENT, dentals, ophthalmology, but we only did 25 paediatric cases last year.

Lynne's staff find that they do not have the volume of paediatric cases to maintain their skills and competency in this area. Are there guidelines stating the number of cases or education required to maintain paediatric skill? I need hard evidence to put an argument to administration.

Any help would be appreciated.
