Accreditation of Program

Australian College of Operating Room Nurses

ACORN recognises that perioperative nurses have a legal responsibility to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care for the patient admitted to the operating suite.  Organisations involved in conducting ongoing educational programs for nurses are therefore invited to apply to the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses for accreditation of their program.

By accrediting educational programs, ACORN provides formal recognition of the quality of the program in meeting the guidelines developed by the College.  Information regarding the course will be disseminated via the ACORN web site once accredited, providing perioperative nurses with the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills required for clinical practice.

Applications for accreditation must be submitted using the ACORN submission template to ensure all information required by the ACORN Board is provided.
