Nurse Profile - Fiona Davies | Print |  E-mail
I commenced my Registered General Training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1990 group 902. On completion of my training in Jan 1993, I worked for 6 months doing agency work while waiting for my GNP to commence at the Women's and Children's Hospital Adelaide. April 1994 I got a job at the Royal Adelaide Hospital working in Cardiac theatres. I took the job knowing that if I didn't like it I could always change areas. Well that was 10 years ago, up to when I took maternity leave. I worked in the RAH Cardiothoracic theatres till 1998 when I took up the position of Clinical Nurse Cardiac and Thoracic theatres at Flinders Medical Centre. I have since resigned my position at FMC after maternity leave to pursue the joys of motherhood and will now do the odd agency shift. I became a member of SAPNA in 1994 on commencement in the Cardiothoracic Unit at the RAH. Attending numerous education sessions and conferences I joined the SAPNA committee in 2001. Being on the committee and working with such dedicated Perioperative nurses is such a privilege. I have had the opportunity to attend interstate conferences as the committee representative as well as the opportunity to be apart of the ACORN review panel for the count standard. Opportunities like this give me the ability to see the amount of hard work that goes into the success of both SAPNA and ACORN.
