What does an anaesthetic nurse do?
Anaesthetic nurses are an integral member of the perioperative team working inside the operating theatre. They are extensively guided in their role by ACORN’s Standards for Perioperative Nursing, especially the nursing role document NR1 ‘Anaesthetic Nurse’.
The anaesthetic nurse works in close professional relationship with the anaesthetic medical staff whilst the patient is undergoing their perioperative care.
