ACORN Three Minute Thesis 2021

The ACORN Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition celebrates the exciting perioperative research conducted by Australian higher degree research students. The 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Thank you to the 2021 participants for the time and effort they put into preparing and presenting their 3MT videos. Erin Wakefield was awarded $1000 for her three-minute presentation about her research into how graduate nurses develop a sense of belonging in the operating theatre. Kasey Irwin was runner up and received an ACORN merchandise pack for her presentation about improving operating room safety and function through more inclusive design.

The videos are available to view below.
