The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.

Positions are primarily based at Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) a 370-bed university teaching hospital that provides a broad range of services in all specialty areas to the Darwin urban population as well as serving as a referral centre to the whole Top End of the Northern Territory (NT). Due to service expansion and the establishment of a new mental health ward at RHD, additional nursing and midwifery staff are required. Opportunities also exist across other speciality areas including emergency, intensive care, midwifery, operating theatre, ICU and mental health – as well as in regional hospitals. 

As a Nurse/Midwife (N2) you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional Hospital. You are also invited to submit your interest in any of the regional hospitals (Alice Springs, Katherine or Tennant Creek) across the Territory.

Responsibilities include the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing and midwifery care as well as contributing to the delivery of mental health services. You will be required to contribute towards maintaining a physically, culturally, and psychosocially safe environment for patients and staff.

To be successful, you require current registration as a Nurse/Midwife with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and beyond entry to practice certificate to secure ongoing appointment and proven clinical knowledge delivering mental health services. Suitable applicants that have not completed a beyond entry to practice will be offered a 2-year fixed period to facilitate achieving the certificate.

What we’re looking for

Wilhelm is extremely proud of our contributions and presence at the Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital build this year! In preparation for the site going live, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Clinical Application Specialist to join our team on a 13-month fulltime fixed term contract.  The Clinical Application Specialist will play a crucial role in educating hospital staff at Shoalhaven on the effective use of Wilhelm's equipment following installation. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a nursing background or experience working in hospital environments (i.e. nurses, wardsmen, medical device sales/account manager) to explore a different kind of role while leveraging their expertise in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have a natural flare for training and potentially has a background or certification in teaching skills. This position is ideal for someone who is looking for consistency in their working time schedule – say goodbye to late night shifts! 

 

There is also potential for the contract to be renewed/extended (dependant on various circumstances).

 What we'll need you to do

  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for hospital staff, including nurses, physicians & technicians, on the operation and utilisation of Wilhelm’s medical equipment and software applications. 
  • Collaborate with hospital administrators and department heads to assess training needs and develop tailored education programs to address specific requirements.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and simulations to ensure staff proficiency in using Wilhelm’s equipment effectively and safely.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on Wilhelm’s products, offering technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to hospital personnel as needed. 
  • Foster positive relationships with hospital staff, acting as a trusted advisor and resource for ongoing support and education.
  • Collect feedback from training sessions and collaborate with internal teams to identify areas for improvement and refinement in product design, usability, and training materials. 
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, evaluations, and certifications, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Produce well-written post-training reports and provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction and needs.
  • Exceed customer satisfaction targes while meeting business agreement KPIs
  • Represent business in a manner aligned with company values and goals
  • Stay informed about advancements in medical technology and industry best practices to continuously enhance training programs and curriculum content.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor of Nursing (or a related field) highly desirable; current nursing license/registration (preferred).
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or appropriate post-graduate certificate or working towards (preferred).
  • Experience working with IT interface systems and change management.
  • Experience and/or understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment – must be comfortable working in the OR and ICU environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt training approaches to meet the needs of different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience in providing well-written post-training reports and provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction and needs (preferred).
  • Manual handing experience (preferred). 
  • Excellent time management skills
