ACORN is conducting a webinar on Wednesday 9 June in conjunction with Lynnelle Murrell RN, IPC Director at Maury Regional Hospital USA, and Wilhelm Integrated Solutions. Lynnelle will discuss SSI transmission in operating rooms and how she achieved a 73 per cent reduction in SSIs. For the first time in Australia, Lynnelle will present the research and discuss the outcomes from her clinical trial published in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).
KarenAnne Cole will present the microbiology and safety profile of Indigo-Clean used in the trial.
Lynnelle Murrell
Lynnelle serves as director of the Infection Prevention Program at Maury Regional Medical Centre (MRMC). She has 35 years of experience as an RN and has been at MRMC since 2008. She has been in infection prevention since 2011 and gained CBIC infection prevention certification in 2013. Prior to MRMC she served in critical care, emergency department, clinical research and project management. Her infection prevention responsibilities include oversight of the hospital departments and advisor to the MRMC system and local community partnership of long-term care facilities.
Lynnelle is a passionate patient advocate holding patient safety to be a guiding star. In 2013 she suffered major trauma in a horseriding accident. Her road to recovery gave her firsthand experience in the patient’s shoes and served to strengthen her incessant drive for zero patient infections in the MRMC system.
