Phyllis Davis AM scholarship

In appreciation of the significance of education, the importance of perioperative nurses engagement with their professional associations and her role as a perioperative leader, Phyllis Davis AM has funded one scholarship to support a middle or senior perioperative leader and current ACORN member to attend the Perioperative Leadership Summit (PLS) 2023. 

Through the scholarship, a perioperative nurse will be given the chance to attend PLS from Thursday 31 August to Saturday 2 September 2023 at The University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, Western Australia. The PLS offers numerous opportunities for education and networking with middle and senior perioperative leaders.

Applications for the scholarship close on 7 June 2023.

The successful applicant will be notified by mid-June 2023.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship covers one PLS 2023 registration. It does not cover travel or accommodation.

Who can apply?

You are eligible to apply if you are a middle or senior Perioperative leader and a current ACORN member who has been a member continuously for at least two years, are practising as a perioperative nurse and are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

The assessment committee will take into account your commitment to activities organised by your state or territory perioperative nursing association and ACORN activities. Applicants from rural, regional or remote areas will be given priority.

If your application is successful:

  • You must submit a report about the conference by 30 September 2023. The report may be up to 1500 words and photos may be included. At the discretion of ACORN, the report may be published in ACORN communications.

  • You must agree to acknowledge the financial support awarded by ACORN and your name, state and photo published in ACORN communications (e.g. Social media, The Oak enewsletter)
