As the 2022 year is flying by, it’s time to get ready and excited for Perioperative Nurses Week 2022! The past few years have been challenging and unpredictable for our perioperative nursing community. This year, we want to focus on practical, realistic self-care for the perioperative nurse.

Each day, we will have a self-care focus, with competitions, education, and prizes. Stay tuned to our socials for daily updates, competition details, and announcement of daily prize winners.
Last year saw the inaugural ACORN G.L.U.E. Awards acknowledging a special nurse who keeps the team together ‘like glue’. They are Genuine, they make you Laugh, they are Unique, and above all, show Empathy.
After the amazing calibre of entries for the ACORN G.L.U.E. Awards in 2021, ACORN is continuing these awards in 2022 (proudly sponsored by Multigate).

We know that perioperative nurses ‘Step up’ every day to be there for their colleagues, patients, and the wider healthcare community. This year we want to see perioperative nurses ‘stepping up’ towards N.U.R.S.E. self-care. Teams gathered together, got their pedometers/ smart watches, and started counting those daily steps for the 2022 Stepping Up Challenge to win big prizes.

With the change in the ACORN conference format for 2022, the ACORN Perioperative Nursing Awards was held on Saturday 8th October 2022 at 11am AEDST. This awards ceremony included the PNW 2022 ‘Stepping up’ competition winners, G.L.U.E. Awards, EiPN awards, and ACORN Fellowships. This is an event not to be missed.
