The Oak July 2026

Welcome to the July edition of the Oak. It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the year and that our national conference was almost two months ago.

We have now reviewed your feedback from the conference evaluations and are very pleased with the results. Your insights are already informing the early development of the 2028 conference program in Victoria, ensuring it reflects the needs and priorities of our perioperative community.

Our membership surveys have not yet been released as we are currently determining the best approach to capture the full breadth of perioperative specialty practice. This work is essential to understanding how we can strengthen membership value, engagement and involvement across all regions and specialties.

Our new board has just held its first meeting, with members orientated to the ACORN staff roles and to the key priorities shaping ACORN’s agenda for the next twelve months. I would again like to thank each of them for volunteering their time, expertise and leadership. We are very fortunate to have such an experienced and knowledgeable group guiding the organisation.

We look forward to working together as we continue advancing safe, high quality perioperative nursing practice across Australia.
